Vintage Bathing Beauties

Hi everyone, it's my day to post on the Just For Fun Rubber Stamps blog and I've used Vintage Bathing Suits and Lowers Blood Pressure.

I love these bathing suits, such a reminder of what ladies used to wear!

I stamped them on white cardstock in black ink, then colored them with assorted Zig markers.  I inked the panel with distress ink before adding it to a panel of cream cardstock.

I created a card from black cardstock and added the stamped panel on top.   The sentiment was created the same way and added to the card with foam adhesives for dimension.

Aren't they sweet?

Thanks for stopping by today.

Never Lose Hope

Hi everyone, I love butterflies and this page from a Leisure Arts coloring book was the perfect starting point for a card.

Leisure Arts has some amazing colored pencils and coloring books and I'm using a page from the Art of Coloring Animals.

I colored one of the butterflies with assorted colors, then cut a panel to fit my card.  I wanted the focus on the butterfly so I left the background white.

I wanted a spring feel so I inked the panel with purple ink and matted it with purple cardstock.

I wrapped purple ribbon around a gray card, then placed the panel on top with foam adhesives for dimension.

A Unity stamp was inked with purple and then die cut and matted with 2 layers of purple cardstock.

Robin's Nest Dew Drops were added about the butterfly for some added dimension.

What do you think?

Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Image may contain: text

Hi everyone, the Joy Clair design team is participating in the  Spring Coffee Lovers Blop Hop.  Joy Clair is a Super Sponsor!!!!   Please stop by the Joy Clair blog to see all the amazing projects created for this hop.

I've used the Coffee Lovers stamp set and created 2 different cards.  This stamp set has 18 Coffee sentiments and images and is a must for the coffee lover in your family.

You got this is my first card.

I stamped the coffee cups using a masking technique so the center cup would appear to be in front of the other two cups.  I carefully cut around the tops of the cups so I could die cut without cutting off the edges.

Then I placed a large die cut circle behind the cups and placed it upon a doily which I placed on my card.  A little color was added and "Latte" was stamped in black ink on the center cup.

For my second card, I wanted a simple black and white plus one color card.

The cup was stamped on a white panel and the flourishes wee stamped under the sentiment.   Some white Whiskers Graphics twine was tied around the card for additional depth.

And finally, I decided to create a shaker card.  I'd forgotten how much fun they could be!!!

I used the My Cup Runneth Over stamp set - a fun set of 3 stamps.

I stamped and colored the cups, cutting them to fit my card.  The phrase was stamped and embossed on vellum and sandwiched between an embossed frame and a cardstock panel.

I used foam tape between the layers for dimension and so my beads could shake freely.

After inking all layers, added the cups and used stickles to add dimension for the flower centers and the flowing liquid from the cups.

Gift Basket and Matching Card

Hi everyone, I've got a new project on the Whiskers Graphics blog.

Supplies:
Divine Twine Metallics - Rose Gold Metallic
Dies - Spellbinders
Stamps - Joy Clair - Paisley Bouquet, Butterfly Kisses
Scoring Tool - Scor-Pal
Adhesive - Beacon Adhesives

I had this lovely floral stamp set I wanted to use.  Using a beige panel, I stamped one of the images in brown ink in the corner.  For dimension, I fussy cut a separate flower and added it atop the flourish with a brad.

I tied Rose Gold Metallic Twine vertically around the card, tying at the top.  I added a sweet sentiment from the Butterfly Kisses stamp set to the center of the card with foam adhesives for dimension.

Then I had to create a coordinating gift basket  using Spellbinders dies.  I first created a base from cardboard.  Cutting it 4 3/4" x 4 3/4", I scored 1/2" around and folded on the scored lines.  I cut in the corners.

Using Spellbinders die, I die cut 8 panels from brown cardstock and 4 panels from beige cardstock.  I stamped the same floral design I used on the card on the 4 beige cardstock panels then adhered them to the brown panels.  I also stamped and fussy cut flowers, adhering them to the panels with brads.

A handle was created from strips of cardstock and another floral stamp was repeatedly stamped on the beige strip.

The brads from the flowers hold the handles in place.  A second set of brown panels was adhered to the panels inside the basket covering the handles.  A final panel was added to the basket base.

I punched holes in the edges of the panels and used Rose Gold Metallic twine to tie the basket together.

Now simply add some treats in the basket and give to someone special.  These baskets are quick and easy to make and would be great for Easter, Mother's Day, birthdays and so much more.

Make it Artsy / Whisker Graphics

Hi everyone, Whisker Graphics recently sponsored an episode of Make it Artsy with Julie Fei Fan Balzer and Joe Rotella and I'm thrilled to have several projects on the show.

These cute little gift bags were on the table.

The bags are from Whisker Graphics.  The leaves and apple pits were created with Makins' Clay.

JoyClair stamps were used on the Whisker Graphics tags and tied with Whisker Graphics Twine.

Leaves were die cut and JoyClair stamps were added to the leaves and on the Whisker Graphics bag.  Whisker Graphics twine was used as embellishments.

Here's the link to the YouTube Video:  Make It Artsy / Divine Twine

Spring Flowers and Butterflies

Hi everyone, I am so tired of winter.  It's the middle of March and we just got another 4" of snow with more to come!!!!!  We have had our fill of snow so it's time to think spring with the promise of sunshine and flowers.

I'm on the Proxxon blog today with this Spring wall hanging.

I used Folk Art Ultra Dyes in Turquoise and Emerald City to paint a wood plaque.  I used the Butterfly Kisses stamp set from Joy Clair to add butterflies to the left side.  Then I used several stencils with molding paste to add dimension about the plaque.

Prima flowers were added in the corner and I created several butterflies from Makin's Clay.

I finished by spritzing on some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist.

Thanks for stopping by today.

My Redeemer Stamp set with JoyClair

Hi everyone, the design team at Joy Clair is working with a new stamp set - My Redeemer.  This stamp set is a mixture of 9 amazing phrases and images.

Image may contain: text

I've decided to this stamp set in my planner and it looks lovely!  I began by adding some color to the page with Faber Castel Gelatos, using a baby wipe to blend the colors.  Next, I stamped a variety of stamps from this set about the page.

I added some additional color to the crosses with Zig Markers as they span the page.

LIFE got in the way but I had time to create a quick tag with this set.  The phrase was perfect to coordinate with the Spellbinders Cross Die.

So Sweet Travel Frame

Hi everyone, I am participating in the Designer Crafts Connection blog hop this month.  And this month we are working with etchall®.

Today, I've created a travel frame using etchall® etching crème.  Etchall etching creme is a re-usable  crème that produces a white opaque, permanent etched finish on glass, mirror, ceramic, porcelain, marble and slate.

I wanted to document my son's trip but I didn't want a lot of distractions.  Using  etchall® etching crème allowed me to add a sweet phrase on the glass.

1.  Using a Spellbinders die, I die cut a phrase from vinyl.

2.  Use painters tape to tape the vinyl phrase to the glass.  This ensures that the etching crème does does not get on the glass.  Burnish well to keep the etching crème from getting under the letters.

3.  Cover the phrase with etchall etching crème.  Let sit for approximately 15 minutes.

4.  Remove the etching crème and place it back in the jar.  Since etchall is reusable it can be used on multiple projects.

5.  Rinse the frame to remove the remaining etching crème.  Remove the painters tape and the vinyl.  Rinse again and buff dry.

6.  Finally I added some travel elements to the corner of the frame - a ticket stub, a "wander" tag and a globe which I created from Makin's Clay®.  All of which fit the travel theme.

Have you tried etching?  Please stop by the  Designer Crafts Connection blog to see an assortment of  etched projects.

Thank you Sweet Girl

Hi everyone, it's my day on the Just for Fun Rubber Stamps blog and I'm using this lovely stamp - Dream Girl.  There are so many ways you can use this delightful stamp.

I colored her with Copic Markers then fussy cut her and matted her with cardstock.  The Thank you sentiment was stamped on white cardstock in black ink.

For the background I used a Crafter's Workshop Stencil with several Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists to create a fun background.  I matted the panel on cardstock and added it to the card.

Isn't she just the sweetest?  A perfect Thank You card don't you think?

Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy Easter Basket with Bowdabra

What do you get when you combine a plain basket with a beautiful Bowdabra bow?  You get an amazing Easter basket.  Check out my newest post on the Bowdabra blog.

Every Easter basket needs a bow and, being bow challenged, it has always been difficult for me to create an amazing bow.  With the Bowdabra, I now create ALL my own bows  -  quickly and easily - and they turn out so pretty.

Begin by placing the ribbon in the Bowdabra.  I created 4" loops which were the perfect sized loops for the basket I chose.

Once I pulled it out, I simply tied off the bow wire and fluffed out the bow.  So pretty.

I love using wired ribbon, because they hold their shape.

I quickly spray painted the basket with Jade Tint It - love the color.  And I have one basket ready for Easter.

Check out the Bowdabra blog for all the amazing creations you can create with the Bowdabra.

Thanks for stopping by.
